Jaecoo is a Chinese automotive brand launched in 2023 as a division of Chery, one of China's leading vehicle exporters. Often regarded as a sibling to Omoda, Jaecoo focuses on producing SUVs tailored for international markets. The name "Jaecoo" blends the German word 'Jäger,' meaning "hunter," with the English word "cool."

But Jaecoo isn’t stopping there. The brand has ambitious plans to expand into over 60 markets with a network of more than 3,000 dealerships. By 2030, the brand aims to sell 1.5 million vehicles annually. In the UK, Jaecoo plans to introduce five affordable models, including the J7 and J8 SUVs, with prices ranging across the spectrum. This move is a crucial part of its strategy to establish itself as a serious competitor to brands like Kia and Hyundai in the UK market.

In 2024, Jaecoo debuted its first model — the J7. This premium SUV is designed to compete with established rivals like the Nissan Qashqai and the Hyundai Santa Fe. It's available as a petrol but also as a slightly more expensive plug-in hybrid version (PHEV).
